Dearest Darren:

I hope the weather is really nice where you are. It's been snowing here off and on; the sun came out briefly today, so that was pleasant.

The reason for this post is well, I've had to move on in my climbing and have no longer visited your routes. It seems ice shows me a greater appreciation. You've become so distant, I just can't go on with it. I've also decided to remove all your bolts and also to grow a beard. I hope you understand and don't take this too hard.

Though I will always keep your guide book close to my heart.
