Hey all,

Just thought I'd share this short video of a day I spent out bouldering with friends at Pawtuckaway this past weekend. My buddy is fairly strong and managed to put down quite a few quality lines in his visit up from CT including Ride the Lightning, Terrorist, Rio's Problem, Dopeman. He got shut down by early sunset while working Maxim.

Anyway here's the video, I hope it makes you PSYCHED:

Looking good! Being a local its nice to see some nicely edited footage of the problems I've seen but can't do :)

Wow, nice video!!

Was the rock super cold?

Naw, not too cold - it was like 45 degrees out, nothing too extreme.

Cool video, I saw it on DPM and it's definitely one of the better non-professional videos that's been posted lately. It got me psyched for tonight's typically dreary plastic-pulling session. You've got a good cinematic eye and good taste, keep it up!

Made another video of a solo mission I took this past Saturday (Dec. 17th). I managed my first v6 (Bulletproof) on my second go after working a few individual moves. I'm still very psyched about it and feel like anything is possible.

Very nice video again! Nice climbing too.

Please take my criticisms with a grain of salt: If it were me, I'd have left out those short over-exposed segments. Also, about the segment around 1:10 where there's a rather large tree partly obscuring the view... was it impossible to film the climb without it being in the way, or was it just an unfortunate accident and you didn't have time to reshoot?

Your criticisms welcome appreciated. I assume by the overexposed segments you mean the view of Hobbit Direct from the right side (around :53?). I have to be honest - I really like that shot, even with some blinding light. It's what it looks like out there if you get caught in a stray band of light.

I agree about the tree being in the way though for the send of Hobbit Direct. That I blame on plain old laziness. I've only ever seen Hobbit Direct filmed from one angle and I was going for something different. Afterwards I didn't review the footage, and when I got home I realized the big tree was out there. It's much easier to concentrate on framing when I'm behind the camera filming someone else. I'm still working on my framing for solo climbing trips. It's a struggle between getting a pretty shot and having a wide enough view of the climb to capture most of it without having to re-climb with the camera set up from another perspective.

Yeah, I meant the short segments at :48 and :53. But it's JMHO.
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
