Kati, leave the dog at home; there are enough crag dogs to go around already. If you are looking for something to ward off 'beasts of nature,' buy a .44 mag, it'll be more reliable.

Yep. Kids are just as much of an irritation at the crag as a dog is...

Now pits def don't belong at the craig or off a leash in public "EVER EVER EVER"!!!

I have one pit and one bully, pit, mastif, America bulldog, staffordshire terrier mix mutt.

Both the most friendly happy go luck well trained behaved dogs you can will find anywhere.

When a dog fight breaks out or just misunderstood play the pit gets blamed every dam time. And any dog owner know sooner or later off leash dogs get in scrapes even if they did not start it. Some dope with a dog aggresive dog come along refusing to use a leash and BOOM your perfect dog is a meat market!! The only way to 100% avoid this is to leash your dog and never leave it tied out in the open without a proper fence well in on your property to protect it from wondering dogs and children people blah blah.

Owning a pt is a giant responsibility!!! I love nothing more than seeing people find a place in their heart for a pit as sooo few can but i hate even more seeing people treat them like a 10 lb lap dog. They can be the most docile loving affectionate intelligent breed of dog you will find anywhere and 99.9% of the time that is exactly what they are! However pits are in serious trouble all around this country and if pit owners don't smarten the fuck up quick they will be loosing their right to own a pit and probably sooner than later. No no no you got me wrong on that or misunderstood. I treat my two dogs like babies humans really. I think this is a big part of what the pit bull needs as they where made/forced to be so dependent and loyal to humans and their master for decades upon decades.

I sleep with my dogs i do everything with my dogs i have humanized them so much. I have to go get my hair cut and this will be the longest they have been left alone since i got my hair cut 6 weeks ago. They go everywhere with me except climbing. Then they stay with my mother whom works from home and can be with them 24/7!! My dog's eat when i eat have there own down pillows on my bed the list goes on and on really. I even hand make them 100% organic food from Whole Foods once a week at 25lbs a week that is $$$ at 4 a lb on average for there food. I am that crazy dog guy i just think pits need to be treated with caution. Not because they are a liability but rather when something goes wrong they get blamed and the breed is in way bigger trouble than most understand at this point!!

It's letting em roam with no leash, dog parks, play with children or people that you are not 100% sure would not sue your ass should something happen as any breed of dog can bite. blah blah blah that stuff love your dog please just don't make your dog my problem!!

NEW RULE: Any dipshit that uses "haters" because someone has a differing opinion and no actual hate is displayed, gets a kick in the nutz.

NEW RULE: Any subset of dipshits detailed above, who go the step further in their exercise of mental midgetry and posts a picture with a caption in Impact font with "haterz gonna hate" gets not only a swift kick in the ballz, but also subjected to pointing and laughing by the 99.95% of people who can articulate a thought beyond posting some stupid fucking pictures and can comprehend nuance.

Love dogs, they have no place at the crags.

Carry on.

Fair enough.

And looks like we'll never run into each other, I tend to stay away from zoos as well.

Oh yeah, like that's gonna not gonna go answered! Haha...

Any room for a new rule pertaining towards spewing an opinion with zero rationale behind it?

"they have no place at the crags."

And so much talk of kicking people... it makes me think you might be a hater....

Oh, and this doesn't use impact font, so please don't be a hater!

haters gonna hate!

You know, I have been giving this some more thought, and I changed my mind. I do think it's a great idea to have a dog at the crag.

It occurred to me that having a crag dog is the only way I can keep you and your dog away from me at the cliff. Here are my thoughts on the type of dog I am looking for that might be most effective in keeping you and your dog from sniffing, licking, biting and or peeing on me and my stuff at the cliff.

I know you told me your dog is friendly and he is the best dog in the world, Blah, Blah, Blah! When your dog comes up the trail leash less and 100 meters ahead of you and apporaching me, How do I know it's the best dog in the world, is it because you said so, and I know you about as well as I know your dog.

So with one of these dogs, I think problem solved, please help me choose the right one. I do love dogs, I just travel way to much to own one, and seeing the world is a bit more important then owning a dog right now, but with all the benefits of having one at the crag, I think it's time. Which one?
