Just curious, a buddy and I are looking to head into Grand Tetons National Park for some climbing. What is the suggested climbing season for acceptable weather?

assuming your looking to get on alpine rock, late july - early september

I was up there the last week of September and the weather was perfect. I think it is like any mountain environment, it depends on the aspect of the route, the particular year and your ability to approach via snow, ice, etc.

I was there this year in late July and in early September. There was so much less snow in September. The hike up the the lower saddle in july was hiking up moderate snow for a most of the way, you would be on a nice trail in early september.

You could climb there any time of year, but the prime conditions are july and august, with the season start depending on the snow pack and spring weather.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
