It would be cool if MountainProject searched the internet for you and had videos listed next to areas.
So when you went to an area page such as Eldorado Canyon it would have a "Related Videos" section that would search youtube and vimeo for keywords related to that area.
An example of this in use is the Emusic song download website has this cool feature called "Dig Deeper" that looks up all related media for that band on Flickr, Youtube, and Wikipedia.
Otherwise having individuals associate videos to certain climbs is a great idea. finding them in the comments is usually annoying and only a few areas have them embedded into the description.
For example I originally submitted the Three Sisters area and have since edited it to include videos as a section based on videos that have shown-up in the comments: mountainproject.com/v/alder…
This sounds like a cool idea...but would it be a step too far? If you can click on a climb and be able to watch someone pulling the crux on film, is that crossing the line? I dunno, maybe not but that seems like a buttload of unnecessary beta to me.
I'm not talking about all that. I just want an easy button to find the videos people post. There are some pretty good ones. I mean we click a photos tab for pics why not a video tab for vids. Just an idea.
