I would recommend Rodellar if you like wicked steep limestone and tufas. For more technical climbing I would recommend Siurana. The short time I was in Siurana it was pretty mellow. Rodellar is more of a social party area.

I'll be living in Barcelona for the year, so if you make it up to catalunya then we should meet up! I'll probably only be available weekends, but could try and open my schedule a bit

If you are going to Rodellar then you might as well spend some time at Los Mallos de Riglos as its close by and offers some amazing multipitch conglomerate routes. Morata de Jalon is another crag close to Zaragoza but I would hit up the other two first. Catalunya's got some pretty amazing climbing and a strong climbing community as well. I've even heard of an old road or railway tunnel that's been converted to an outdoor gym in barcelona. Might be worthwhile to head there if you are partner-less and find a few locals to take you out.

I forgot to mention earlier that Zaragoza holds its fiestas (think Pamplona and bulls...) the first couple of weeks of October. Not sure what kind of a party scene you are into but there will be as many nights of all night partying as you can stand as well as some great cultural events, free concerts, and even bulls if you are into that sort of thing.

I lived in Zaragoza for a couple of years. Wish I was still there to show you around...

For a list of nearly 500(!) crags in Spain, take a look at

October/November can be rainy, so plan accordingly.

Have fun!

shaz-

I've got 6 weeks set aside for wandering Europe starting probably 2 Oct. Plan to climb in Italy the 1st week and then indefinite after that. I could meet up with you anywhere, let me know if you could use another partner. Any interest in DWS in Mallorca, as well?

Hey guys,

I'm a 20 year old American that is proficiently fluent in Spanish looking for climbing partners in the Bilbao/Basque region. I'll be here through the end of December. I don't have quickdraws a rope or a car, but I've got everything else and would love to start getting out side, if you're interested, shoot me an email at Fishman.jk@gmail.com or give me a call at 646 663 614.

Cheers,
Jacob

I'll second the idea to hit Mallos de Riglos and Rodellar since they are very close to each other. Riglos is one of my faves, probably cause I have to struggle more in Rodellar.

I am not familiar with the climbing areas. The best way to contact me will be via email: gnuzycats (at) gmail (dot) com. I will be travelling around so I may not be able to reply quickly. Thanks!

Hi y'all,

I just got to Catalunya and can climb almost everyday for the next week or so.
I don't climb above hard 5.10s or easy 5.11
I have a rental car but no phone . I can call you if you send me your number but if any of you will at any of the crags, i can meet you
Richard

Hi -
I'll be flying into Barcelona tomorrow. I have a full rack and plenty of draws and rope. I just need a partner.

I'll have three days to hoof around and find myself someone to climb with. Please let me know if any of you are interested in doing sport/trade/multipitching or any other kind of climbing!

Best,
Alec
