I just stumbled into this. It looks like the sea cliff was either very dirty/fractured rock to begin with, or the collapse itself pulverized quite a bit of stone.

Good thing this only happens with super loose rock. I couldn't imagine being a pitch up and have the whole cliff start slowly moving.

The sad thing is those don't look a whole lot worse than what you see in residential Southern California neighborhoods after a heavy rain.

I was talking to a British girl in my geomorphology class and she was telling me that the dude who caught the video was a professor who knew the slide was going to happen and posted up wait for it. I guess they had already closed of the area below for a few days.
