I am currently trying to plan a climbing trip where I could backpack into a place with climbing. I was wondering what mp thinks would be a good place to go I was thinking of maybe doing something in the park but I am up for any suggestions. It could be bouldering or trad/sport climbing.

Don't know of too many places with back-country sport climbing, per-se. The Park works. Grenadier range, off Molas Pass south of Silverton. Wind Rivers. NOrth Cascades (though I heard it started raining for the winter...) Chimneys of Treasure, in the Elk Range. All of those should make for some good trips.

I second the Grenadier range. Wham Ridge is an awesome alpine moderate with a bunch of other great climbs around it.

Lost Creek and Tarryall in the Platte if you want to stay fairly local

Lone Eagle Peak, above Crater Lake in the Indian Peaks has a nice hike in. There are a few rock/snow routes of varying difficulty in the area as well. West side of Indian Peaks is very quiet...

Has anyone hiked into the Pine River Valley outside Durango? The MP descriptions on the Popes Nose sound really great.

I've been spending a lot of time lately drooling over The Wind River Range in Wyoming. Pack in, spend a few days, pack out. Lots of tall stuff to climb moderate to hard. Looks like heaven... with mosquitos.

Wind River is hard to beat. Lots of stuff can be done with not alot of gear. Keep that pack a little lighter.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
