well since you have politely asked for back with no results, wait till you see the culprit with said gear hanging off their rack, then TAKE it back. maybe take some of his/her shit also for the frustration they have caused you. If he/she puts up some resistance then back hand him/her or the smallest member of the group to let them know you mean business. That'll teach to touch your shit.
