If you can't find a partner. |

well, if your looking for the easiest route up, take the "Durrance Route", its an easy 5.6., and and I believe its the only route at that grade or lower. Weather should be great! |

There is a KOA camp right by the Tower. It has showers and even a little diner for breakfast. |

Although low grade, don't be expecting an easy climb even though you seem to climb fairly hard sport! Good luck, have fun, let us know what you think it felt like and what route you climb. edit - might be tough to find a partner in the parking lot. people usually show up there with who they're going to climb with |

Too bad you're not gonna be there a couple weeks later. I'd meet up with you and lead every pitch of Durrance but I'll be going by there a little too late. PM me if your plans are flexible. |

Skip the KOA and stay on the famous Devil's Tower guide's lawn. It is free. The guy is really nice and there is a bathroom and shower. His lodge is north of the tower. A little googling will find his guide service and his lodge where you can crash at night. This is a great deal. There are also lots of climbers there, so you might find a partner or group for the day. |

I'll second G8rFtBall's comment about needing to show up there with a partner. I've been twice and it's really not a great place to partnerfind. You might have better luck meeting someone in Spearfish that would be willing to take the drive out to DT with you. Or, I hear the guide is a good guy, too. |
