A question for Durango-ites (Durangoans?)

Does anyone know what the road up to Hotel Draw to access the Colorado Trail is like? Would a Subaru Forester be able to handle it?

In two weeks time I am planning to ride Molas Pass to Hotel draw one day and finish up into Durango the next. I was hoping to be able to meet some people driving up to Hotel Draw on the first night. Is there a river crossing getting there? Will it be passable in two weeks time?

Thanks for any advice!

I lived in Durango for years and regularly used those roads as a short cut over to Scotch creek. The Bolam pass road has a creek crossing, if memory serves, otherwise it's fine. We had a wedding up there years ago and had minivans up those roads. You should be ok. Bring a shovel, just in case.

The road to Hermosa is pretty smooth all the way out. You gotta cross the creek to park at the TH though. That said I use to take a mini-van across it all the time unless the water was extreme spring runoff
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
