Just wanted to add a vote of confidence for JustRopes...

Bought a new cord from them last year, and their customer service was top notch! I'm sad to say I don't remember who I spoke with, but he was very friendly, patient, and helpful as I talked through my different options and finally settled on an out-of-stock rope. He knew exactly when their next shipment would be in and provided an accurate estimate of when my rope would ship. He then proceeded to fix a SNAFU resulting from a miscommunication with my aunt, who had bought me a JustRopes GC, *after* I had already paid for the rope. Refunding the GC was done no problem, and he was friendly as ever!

Will definitely keep buying from them. Thanks for the discount code!

<shipping rant>

Ordered my new cord 8 days ago...still don't have it. Not exactly impressed with their "free" shipping. Then again, maybe I'm just super-impatient. I would have gladly paid an extra $10 to get the rope in a few days.

I just hope it doesn't show up looking like the package from Ace Ventura.

Used Just Ropes on several occasions as they carry hard to find combos (10mm+ 70 bi colors) and brands (tendon).

Good stuff.

1 week too late! I just paid $185 for a rope I could have bought for $163!!!! And I would have the color I wanted (the least of my worries though).

Maybe so, but at least you have a rope to use for that extra $22 you spent.

I placed my order 12 days ago...still haven't received my cord or any UPS shipment information...nothing. I contacted JustRopes and they said the order was sent to New England Ropes for shipment. I contacted NER and they provided zero information...just passed the buck back to JustRopes. I feel like I'm getting the runaround here.

Needless-to-say, I'm not a big fan of JustRopes right now, and I will probably not purchase from them again.

Edit: Just got a call from JustRopes after my shipment inquiry and they informed me that NER has to "make me a new rope", and that it would ship on Friday...15 days after the order date. So basically, I will end up waiting 20+ days to receive a rope I should have had in 5-7 days.

Well at least your getting a New England rope right? Quality like that is worth waiting for? I don't know, just trying to give you a little positive outlook on it....

I'm getting the same deal as the Count here...my guess is they still had them on the website but didnt have any in stock and are doing their best to honor the price they had listed. I'm not in a huge rush for this rope so not a big deal for me, but a bit more communication would have been nice on their part.

Well, THERE'S your problem. ;) Sorry, not a big NER fan.

OTOH, I HAVE used Justropes to buy a number of ropes and have always been happy with their service. Of course I too am impatient, but in my case, I don't mind paying for 2nd Air to satisfy that craving.

I bought a rope from them. It didn't arrive in 2 days, but it arrived nonetheless. Great price. If you need it in a hurry, go to REI and buy one. If you are willing to wait, it is a GREAT deal. With the extra 15% off, it is way better than a 20% off coupon at REI. I think it took about two weeks to receive mine.

It's called a drop ship. You don't have to have an extensive inventory to stay in business that way. Sometimes, things don't go as planned, and if the customer is not very understanding, you get this mess.

Bought my rope from justropes.com before Memorial Day 2011. They had a stock issue with the particular rope I wanted and paid for.

I called justropes.com directly and they worked the problem out. They arranged to have my rope sent directly from the manufacturer. They maintained good email communication as well.

Satisfied customer,

Sounds like from what everyone is saying that they don't have anything in stock and are solely drop shippers. If that's the case they should let people know that up front, not just consistently send people emails that "we're out of stock and have to get an order in from the manufacturer". Drop shipping isn't a bad thing, but don't lie about it.
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
