Not sure exactly why but usually I am quite pumped by the time I reach this spot on this climb.

Probably because the holds are quite small and this section of the wall is considerably steeper than the rest of the route. Thank god for this bomber finger lock though! This is a serious contender for one of the best 5.8's in the park.
