Birth defect
|
I have a friend who was born with half a foot and wants to start climbing. She has come out and done a few top rope routes but struggles because of it. Any suggestions as far as what to do about shoes or what might help her? |

Contact evolv they do custom shoes for people they did a shoe for a guy that lost half of his foot to frost bite. Call and ask for jeff he can get all informed on it good luck |

+1 for Evolv. Good chance to get something there for a decent price. I like the knee pad idea too; should use that as my excuse for poor climbing on my bad ankle. |

Have her get in touch with Paradox Sports too--they are always |

Paradox is on Facebook as well. facebook.com/pages/Paradox-… |

+10 for paradox. Malcolm is a really cool guy and paradox is top notch. |

Thanks everyone for the advice, I will have her look into those and see what works best for her. |

Eric Albers wrote:My friend broke his ankle and instead of trying to use his bad foot, he just bought a nice knee pad and got used to climbing like that. He was able to toprope anything he wanted, and lead some easy stuff. Might be a comfortable alternative to trying to outfit her foot. My friend was able to toprope 5.11 successfully with a one foot and one knee (so there are no limits outside the mind). Glad you guys are out climbing! That guy is my hero. He was running laps on Suppers Ready with one leg. |
