Looking for recommendations for an orthopedic doctor in Boulder. Having major troubles with my right wrist and I need it fixed. Obviously, a climber or someone who understands climbing is preferred. Anyone have good/bad experiences?

Ken Duncan is a wrist doc in Fort Collins, and a climber. He is even registered on MountainProject, I think. He gave me good advice on my wrist problems, although in the end he wasn't on my insurance so he didn't do my surgery.

Dr. James Reid did surgery on both of my wrists 8 years ago and I am very happy with the results. As a former competitive skier and outdoors person, he seemed to understand my athletic needs.

I've been to 2 different hand/wrist docs (after a few finger issues, 1 broken hand and 3 broken wrists, not to mention a few sprains... none from climbing). I've liked Dr Pater, and did not like Dr Leonard, both at Front Range Orthopedics in Longmont.
I wasan't seeking geriatric help, but yet Dr Leonard seemed more interested in reminding me of my age than treating me. By contrast, Dr Pater recognized that I was on a youthful path, treated me like an athlete choming to get back at it, and was far more concerned with making sure that the injuries were checked out to the maximum, non-complicated, comfortable, and sustained as well as possible for my lifestyle. He gave lots of alternatives and made sure I got MRI's immediately when I was concerned about soft tissues, etc... got me into a comfotable removable splint when I wanted that, and gave me the best advice he could about re-entering sports rather than the typical "don't do that."
I'd really advise considering Dr Pater along with the other suggestions made here if you are within reach of Longmont. His office is at 720-890-8292.

I can give a second for Dr. Reid (and others in the same office) Dr. Reid helped me when I broke both of my arms, and Dr Stoll at the same office did my knee surgery the day after Christmas last year.
Office numbers are easily found online.

Do you have a diagnosis on your wrist, or at least an idea of what is going on? I currently have scaphoid-lunate instability and might be able to provide some comments on this issue after speaking with two orthos.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
