Just wondering if anyone knows anything about after doing Superstar on James Peak getting back down and around to do Shooting Star?

Easily done. Just descend way on the left side of the face where it is low angle and lacking snow. There is a rolled over truck around there, too. Are you approaching over the St. Mary's Glacier route or up the canyon from Rollinsville?
We are approaching St. Mary's side and were thinking of doing Shooting Star first then drop off on the Northside somewhere...Do you recommend Superstar first?
Superstar is the jewel of the three lines on James - I'd recommend that one first. It's got a spicy exit depending on snow/cornice. You'll have a good dose of elevation loss dropping into the basin, and then gain it all back - which makes the Superstar (or any of the couloirs) feel like a ton of elevation gain. I haven't come in from St. Mary's, but coming from Rollinsville avoids I-70 and St. Mary's crowds, and is a beautiful way to access the area.
I was on Rollins Pass last weekend, still alot of snow in the shade once you get to about 9000'. I doubt you'll get to the trailhead, factor in extra hiking.
It can easily be done. I would recommend shooting star first as it gets sun sooner and will deteriorate quicker. Skied them both 3 weekends ago. I think we did it in 4.5 hr round trip. bigmtnski.wordpress.com for photos
