Over-documented, and probably a little long-winded. 147 photos: lots of butt shots along with excellent Tom Evans photos. 8 videos. Enjoy. -gg [Cross-posted at the taco - call me a spammer.] |

Long winded or not, kept my attention. Great report! |

In picture #115 you guys have an ACR anchor, gumbies for sure! |

Also like your cam hook with shot with the homemade self adjusting daisy. Any homemade cams on this trip? |

Rick Blair wrote:Also like your cam hook with shot with the homemade self adjusting daisy. Any homemade cams on this trip?I pre-rigged two ACR anchors for us. The route has a bunch of extreme traverse entry and exit points. The ACR worked great (once I got Wally to set it up right!) Didn't make any new homemade cams, but we used the same one from last time. The adjustable daisy performed flawlessly. Since I was ascending/cleaning with a Cinch and a single ascender, I used the second daisy to aid through overhanging sections when cleaning. Easier than passing a jug around the piece: Slide right up to the close piece, top step if necessary to directly clip the next piece, then adjust that daisy until you put just enough weight on it to un-clip the lower piece from the rope. You never even break stride with the ascender system since nothing gets moved/unclipped. |
