Help! How do I upload a photo?

The title says it all. I am sure that the instructions are on the site, but I am just not perceptive enough to find them. A little help here would be greatly appreciated.

You either start by adding an album in your profile and following directions OR by clicking add photo on a route/crag/area page. Easier if you know the path on your hard drive to locate it when prompted to browse for it

I'm doing these things, but every time I try to upload a photo onto a specific route or my album, it stops me says that I need to add a caption. I choose the photo I want to upload, write something in the part that says "Description" (because there's no where that says "caption") but it still doesn't work and stops me on the next page after I hit submit. I've tried two different browsers so far--Safari and Chrome, though maybe I should probably update them(?). Has anyone else had this issue? Or can anyone else give me a pointer for troubleshooting?

I have the same issue with it saying I need a caption. I used safari and chrome.

so what are we to do? ive sent them a few emails tried using my phone, others phone, different browsers...very annoyed

Not sure. I had also been in communication with MP but haven't heard back in a while. Also, my versions of Safari/Chrome are up-to-date. Just tried to upload a photo again this morning and had the same issue :(

Okay so I think it may have to do with file type or size because pictures from my phone upload just fine. Pictures taken on a DSLR will simply not ever load or I get the same message. 

i was told by the mountainproject support that there is a bug that uses "add a caption" as a variety of errors such as file size and photo size (no panoramas) 

Aha! Thanks for the tip, Nick and Leah. I was trying to upload a panorama. I guess I'll also leave the SLR at home. Thanks again!
