Climbing near Staunton Virginia

My wife is dragging me to the in-laws who live in Staunton Virginia for Thanksgiving. We can get one day away while they watch our four month old. What areas are within a reasonable (1.5 to 2 hour) drive?

Getting out for a day of climbing will make or break this trip for me.

Seneca Rocks rocks! 1 hour drive 33 West through Harrisonburg.

The New is only 3 hours from there. You might find that Staunton's proximity to the New/Summersville Lake is a good excuse to visit the in-laws more often.
There's climbing west of Harrisonburg, including Hone Quarry and Hidden Rocks (within an hour or so). Also, Iron Gate is a seldom visited sport/mixed area west of Lexington (probably 1.5 hours away).
And, Seneca, known for it's multi pitch trad routes.

Going to a wedding this weekend in Staunton - where are those boulders in Harrisonburg? Drive less than 1 hour? Is this hone quarry you're referring to?

There's also the whole Rawley Springs and Second Mountain area off 33 west of Harrisonburg. If you need more specific directions let me know.

Just found out the hotel that we are staying at is located in Nellysford, VA. I'm the best man in the wedding, so there's little chance of sneaking off to second mountain - looks awesome though and I noticed there's drtopos for this area!

Anything close to the hotel area or perhaps wintergreen? Even if it's just small boulders...

The best bouldering around Harrisonburg is definitely 2nd mountain. A friend and I wrote the Dr. Topo guide. There is a lot of other bouldering places around the burg but 2nd is without question the best area.

Franklin's sport climbing is another local crag 45 minutes from Hburg. Seneca is 2 hours from Staunton.

Thanks guys! We may have time on Sunday to check out the climbing oustide h-burg. Much to my surprise the wintergreen area is littered with boulders - don't know how much is the woods, but we are staying off wintergreen drive and the house has boulders in the back yard - I couldn't believe how lucky this was. And further down the street there's a few cliffs maybe 40 to 50 ft. Everything is covered in moss and lichen, but still fun.
