So did the accident happen on that route? I wish I lived nearby and could help you guys out. On my one rescue in Eldo RMR cleaned my gear and gave it back to me, which I can't tell you enough how cool that was.

Can someone local help these guys out?

Yea.......as it's been said, it can happen to anyone, and so sorry to hear this news.

As when anyone gets hurts it's unfortunate that web-based sites have a tendency to attack the persons involved without knowing anything concrete about the situation........

I've learned over the years to never judge a book by it's cover.........

Best wishes to Phil and a speedy as can be expected recovery....

Thanks Phil.

leader dropped due to rap/lower miscommunication is very common at Highwire for some reason. More than any other crag in CCC. Between that and ropes being too short for lowering, it seems there is at least one of these accidents per season. not only in CCC but at Highwire.

Hi All,
Luke Bauer, Content & Marketing Manager at the American Alpine Club here. Thought I might chime in and let you know that The AAC is focused on Phil, his family, and his recovery and is asking that well-wishers and concerned parties send their words of support to the AAC either via email at getwellphil@americanalpineclub.org or via mail to American Alpine Club 710 10th St, Golden, CO 80401. The AAC will make sure that they get to the family.

As soon as any new information becomes available it will be shared and posted at americanalpineclub.org/p/st…. Please do not contact Phil’s family at this time as they are dealing with many details important to his recovery.

Thanks,
Luke

If I do get up there I will grab the draws if someone hasn't already but, I kinda doubt i'll have the chance.
