haha, wow. People got really into this. It was a joke! I wont use the grappling hook for aid or trad. I am going to use it to add bolt ladders next to cracks alongside classic trad routes. Duh. THATS real climbing!

I have never thought about using a grappling hook for setting up bolts, what a good idea! I usually just use mine for bouldering, so I dont actually have to touch the rock with my hands. It seems to be way more effective than actually climbing the rock. It has been working out really well for me lately. Ive onsited and flashed V10's and 11's. Now, if i can find a longer rope for my hook i'm planning on trying this new highball problem, it's a 13.

Ok... Honestly, what would one use a grappling hook for in the climbing world???

It seems to me like it would be seriously sketchy for anything that you couldn't see what it's hooked to, and if you could see it, wouldn't it be possible to just go and plug a cam or some other pro?

Tactical assaults don't count, they aren't rock climbing... though if i do see a black opps team running up at me in rifle, I am jumping in my car and driving away as fast as I can. :)

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
