Favorite bouldering traverse?

Even if the bouldering purist thinks they're lame, we all have at least one fave, eh? |

Observatory Park. A successful lap around the building would be worthy of mention in Climbing back in the day. I know Pat Adams made it to a 2nd floor window once, I wonder if anyone sent the entire traverse. |

There's an exciting 140' V2 or V3 in the Candle Area on Flaggie that is stellar for the grade. |

Gunsmoke for sure. Aside from being close to my house, there are lots of variations/eliminates, there are 3 and 4-star vert problems going through it at points, it's a solar oven for cold days, there are always fit wimmin hanging around, you can play the bumbling old guy and then burn off the pasty Canadians and shirtless flexing OC gym climbers, and there are more very good problems within a 2-10min walk. |

Gunsmoke is ok. It would be great if the movement weren't so boring and there wasn't a no hands rest in it, and it finished on a summit of sorts (at least a top out). In SoCal it's no comparison to The Sandbox that, at least movement wise, is the best traverse in SoCal. I think my lifetime project in the Wasatch is the best traverse ever(of course) but there are a few other notables that, unfortunately, as seem to be across the pond as they take their traversing more seriously over there. |

Gunsmoke is cool and pretty hard to beat for aesthetics, though like Steve Edwards mentioned, it could be better. I found the Sandbox to be just OK. |

I've never been on it, but Crack House seems pretty cool. |

Dammit! Where is Jack Roberts saying the 'Hinterstossier Traverse' on the Eiger when you need it. Wish I could say that. |

Ironman? Really? That wouldn't even make my top 5 or 10. |

I personally really don't like those maze of pocket traverses in the happies. |

I agree - casting my vote for Punk Rock Traverse. |

Nobody claimed this was objective, e.g., tons of folks have chimed in for Gunsmoke, but the biggest thing it has in it's favor is length. Not a lot of footwork or technique required, etc. Plus the crowds of people standing in line only to flail in the first 10 ft. is kind of annoying. I was thinking Ironman, even though it's pretty short, because the latter portion really requires you to use your feet and core strength and has kind of a dramatic finish. The setting is great too. Another great "Ironman Traverse" at Corona del Mar (aka The Beach). |
