Is there any truth to the legend that they jugged fixed ropes during the night to get back on schedule? My understanding is that they were on t Jimmy Dunn's "Angel Hair" route. I can't remember if it was Ron or Steve on the climb with Jeff but I do seem to remember that one of them broke a hold and fell. There was no tape delay so no way to cover up the "Sh*t!" that erupted as he pitched off. I caught up with Brent on facebook a couple years ago when I ran into his daughter working for OB. Mike that rumor is unsubstantiated I do know that George and Steve did some climbing well into the night to make up for being behind schedule. I really don't care. I know Steve Matous to be a very honorable man.Steve and I did a good bit of climbing together back in the day. Any way that was a very long time ago and we have all moved on to other agendas. I'm glad that you liked the article. Did you click on the "Wide World Of Sports" link that I posted in the beginning of the piece? I remember seeing that intro every Sunday for most of my youth. But, I really wanted to free it rather than grab and aid! As I recall you and Steve were very patient with me that day. I also soloed up that damn finger crack and couldn't get down so you guys threw me a rope. Then I was picking a fight with that guy for aiding up and taking the fixed gear out of that roof that we wanted to do next. Then there was that off width incident? We still made the party. I THINK ?
