Just a heads up for anyone going to the Batman Pinnacle: I was starting the climb of Batman and Robin today with my partner when she noticed a large crack in a very large tree at the base of the climb (about five feet from the belayer). If anyone goes up there in the next couple days, be warned, we witnessed the tree moving and the crack growing slightly larger with every gust of wind. My guess is it will come down in the next week or so, and you don't want to be the one under that large sucker.

Yep, no one should be up there from March 1-July 31st so the tree has plenty of time to do its thing: read here or check out the RMNP NPS website for all updates and closure notices.
FYI- these closures haven't changed in more than a dozen years and it's unlikely that they'll change anytime soon.

Whoops. Good thing we didn't go far, I downclimbed the first pitch because it was too windy. The sign at the trailhead only said the Twin Owls were closed, looks like I made a mistake.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
