Lightweight in sport and TR is silliness. Lightweight in everything else is crucial.

also you should avoid road cycling... folks will spend hundreds or thousands of bucks on new components, wheels, frames to save grams.

I need something to spend my money on something, I need to spend money. I obsess about how cool I look with new, shiny, light gear. Plus the chicks dig it and that is really all that matters. Also worthy of note, I like to put my old biners on everything I can so that everywhere I go everyone will know I'm one cool, bad ass, M.F.
