Looks like Flagstaff and the area doesn't have a current climbing advocate group.

There is lots of climbing, lots of climbers, and lots of climbing diversity.

PM sent to TDog.

Thanks Dean. You are a good man.

Thanks Will, I'm getting out of this before I get too involved, hence the erased posts. If you ever hear back from TDog give me a holler and we can all sit down for drinks or god forbid climbing! If you don't hear back from him who cares, you and I should still get together soon. This interweb is a dangerous rabbit hole and its way too easy to get sucked into pointless conversations with unknown agitators. I'll see you around.

TDog,

I have tried the PM system again. My hope is that it works this time. If you do not receive my PM in the next day or so, please email me. That way we can start a conversation about what the NACC is trying to do over the next year.

Michael - That Kerry Nodal is a great gal. So great that I married her over seven years ago. Funny that you mentioned her thesis. We just found some of her original research data a few days ago.

Dean - You are still a good man.

TDog,

There is always a need. As former Access Fund Regional Coordinator in Southern Arizona, I can attest that Kerry Nodal did great things up north. A group of us from Tucson travelled up to Paradise Forks from So. Az about 2002 or 2003 for Adopt-a-Crag organized by NACC (Kerry). Kerry was pro-active and I admire her efforts to enhance and preserve climbing in the Flagstaff area. The work we did that day at Paradise had a lasting impact; no doubt about it.

Alas, inevitably people move on from such roles when 'life occurs'. I guess Kerry did, and so have I. That said, the need is always there so long as routes are still being put up and the climbing community still grows.

I commend your good will and encourage you to pursue this good work if you are so inspired. At the same time, I would warn you that it is often a thankless uphill battle. Not to discourage you, of course...

Will - All my best to Kerry (though I'd be surprised if she even remembered me) :)

James,

Kerry, who's mind is like a steel trap, does remember you. She says thank you for your help in the past and for the recognition that you are giving her now. The NACC and AF were a big deal to her. She put in hundreds of hours each year to both organizations.

I certainly can not reproduce what she did. But, we have a good core group right now who are focused on getting some things done.

Look us up the next time you are in Flagstaff. I'll buy you a beer.
