I am in the Denver area and will be here till mid march. I am looking for areas that will be fastest to melt snow and good winter crags. I am open to toprope soloing and Bouldering while intown. Ease of TR set up is important and also I would like to only visit the better of the crags. I also will be spending the weekends in Boulder so all the info I can get for that area will help shit tons also. If a area has a topo online please forward a linky.
Thanks from the Dirty South.

Thanks for the info, but why does it say no climbing on the right side of the page. So I explored alittle and found Red Rocks. Where is it legal to climb there? That rock is the SEXIEST shist I have seen here. Is there anything near by similar to it. Also went to Flagstaff, I shrugged my shoulders and drove back down the mountain. I guess I am spoiled from Horse Pens and Rocktown. Go figure

There is good roped soloing at the Golden cliffs. I'ts really close and the walk to the top isn't too bad. I just got back from climbing there today, and since it's south facing, it is a great sunny crag.

Table Mountain is worth trips, but with a partner. Setting up TRs from the top is a pain in the ass and dangerous to those below.
Castlewood's thing about the east side of the bridge is no big deal, not a lot over there anyway and you still have 2-3 miles of canyon to work with.
You cannot climb at Red Rocks b/c Denver Parks has a no-climbing policy, which is weird because they have climbing boulders in some parks around Stapleton. Might as well go and boulder at Morrison some while you're here for the history, and there's 3 Sisters up in Evergreen for good bouldering. Castlewood is still the main one that meets your parameters w/ easy access toprope anchors though.

What are the white walls leaving Golden and heading to Boulder on I think Hwy 93. Some ranch open park Climbable?

Private land, no trespassing. And yes, get some bouldering at Flagstaff while here.

This weekend actually looks like a classic CWC weekend round here(**). Low 40's and sunny; if its at all breezy it will make the other front range crags chilly. At CWC, you can usually find a wall that is out of the wind, and if you are in the sun by the wall its t-shirt weather. I am considering heading out there. I've just started rehab on my shoulder and now that it doesn't hurt quite so bad I'm going to pretend I didn't hear my PT warn me not to get right back at it as soon as it feels better. Post up if you're interested in a bit of a tour.

I will love a tour through the canyon. Let me know and I will be there. I saw a few pics and the rock has a certain appeal. 678-887-68one4 call me. I will show up. I may try to go to Golden Cliffs tommorow if time allows. Thanks for the offer. Bouldering is getting old and I want something tall to fall off of.

Its really looking like I'll do a day there this weekend, let me make some calls and see which day gets the most dudes and I'll give you a ring.

Go to Morrison, excellent, pristine setting, and no one around.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
