I nailed the "Bolt Hold" dead on and it felt much larger that day.
I have climbed this many times in the past without a spotter, but it had been sometime. It caught me off guard.

Italian film maker Michele Radici asked me to be in his film about longtime Yosemite climber Jim Bridwell. "Jim Bridwell, Yosemite Living Legend" was filmed for European countries such as Italy, France, Spain and Germany. Mr. Radici filmed me climbing Midnight Lightning, a boulder problem considered to be one of the most significant bouldering climbs in modern rock climbing.<br> I was chosen to represent one of "todays" top American climbers and to talk about how American climbers compare to other countries. I have had many renowned photographers film me climbing but I had a hard time signing off on them for varied reasons. Mr. Radici inspired me on this occasion. Such a huge honor!
I sounded completely like a robot during the interview until he asked me why Europeans were better climbers. Now I had something to talk about!
The issues I had with filming is that I feel like it takes away from "My" experience. To me, climbing is not a sport. I think Michele understood this.
The "Mantle" move. Press down with left hand on slick, nearly vertical mantle. Right hand pulls on good undercling. Right foot up high on tiny clam shaped foothold praying to the rock gods (They don't exist) it doesn't pop off as you throw your hip up timing it so your knee doesn't get jammed into your armpit causing irreversible and catastrophic failure. <br> .
