Hello Fellow Climbers,

I am apart of an committee over here at Denver International Airport. We specialize in really boring stuff! But this time I get to do something fun .. we want to hear from you guys if you like the idea of a Bouldering Gym in the Denver International Airport. If you are here heading out west to climb or are leaving Denver and need to kill some time - and the bouldering gym is where you want to be, let us know!

This is more of a survey for one of our ideas so if you have any suggestions please feel free. We want to know what you think of this idea.

Thank you,
Chris

any chance we can put some routes on that damned horse?

it'd be an improvement.

what'd be really cool is bouldering over a waterfall pool

will it be free?

free? if there was a gym at the airport I would be psyched even if I had to pay. I don't fly that often but bouldering during a layover is much preferred over eating $hitty food and being bored or pretending to play with the smartphone I don't have.

Curious as to how someone who lives in Pensacola finds themselves on a committee at DIA. I lived in the Pensacola area for 30+ years before moving to Ft. Collins 4 years ago at which time I promptly took up climbing. Always had an interest but just had no rocks in Pensacola!

You're using a past tense action verb with a third person singular simple present indicative. The correct form would be "Did a bear sh@t in the woods?", or conversely, "Does a bear sh!t in the woods?". For those of you getting your claws out, that's a joke, I really don't know what I'm talking about.

Bouldering gym in the airport +1

I get stuck in Denver airport for long layovers sometimes. I would bring my shoes, but I don't want to truck along a harness in my carry on. Does the typical bouldering gym loan harnesses and a beanie?

Hmmmm.....I think I understand your humor there?
You boulder with a harness though?
Either way, a bouldering gym in DIA would be RAD!

I'm sure all the elderly passengers who don't climb will be just thrilled to have a sweaty chalk dusted climber wedged in between them for a 4 hour flight. They better provide showers and change rooms too. This is getting expensive I fear...

Your asking a bunch of people on a climbing website if they think building a bouldering gym is a good idea?

I go through there all the time on layovers. Climbing shoes are easy to pack. I'd love it. Which concourse?

a bouldering gym in an airport.......uhh why????? doesn't make sense..... it's like having a climbing gym at a mall... time to catch up to reading..... silly idea imo....

I could see it as a replacement for that failed fountain, but it would definitely be a kids playground; plus a great way to spread viruses from around the world.

Maybe it can be payback for getting wedged in with "those who do not fit in a single seat"
