im having trouble finding beta on trailheads that lead to the summit of whiteface mountain..was wondering if anyone here could help me out. and no i do not want to hike up the road to the summit.
White Face mountain in Lake Placid New York that is too.
You should/need to pick up the Adirondack Mountain Club Trail Guide to the High Peaks, and they'll have it at EMS. It describes all the trails, trailheads, and includes a map. Off the top of my head, one of the shorter routes starts at the Atmospheric Center off of Whiteface Memorial Highway, there's a slightly longer route, the Wilmington Trail, that starts at the bottom of the Highway, and I think there is a slightly longer route at Connery Pond. All are well-marked trailheads, and the guide book gives good descriptions of it.
But if you like to ski, the road to the summit in the winter is a great, easy ski.
