Hey all,

I'm taking a trip to Mallorca in the coming months (woo cheap winter rates!) and am currently try to figure out what crags have the highest concentration of routes in a climbable grade range for me and my friends. Does anyone know how the steepness of the grading compares between Mallorca and the US (we are from New England, so Rumney is kind of our standard of how hard a certain grade is)? For example, if I can comfortably onsight 5.10b at Rumney, could I probably onsight a 6a+ of a similar style at Mallorca? Obviously it depends a lot on the specific climb, but I'm just trying to get a feel for what to expect in terms of how hard the grading is there so we can hopefully find accommodation near the most grade-appropriate crags. Thanks for your help!

May be it´s too late for the answer, neverthless I´ll try to help.

Regarding the gradness in mayorca, It depends on the type of rock you are used to climb, the grade outside, trad climb or sport climb. It is supoused that if you are able to climb loosly onsight 5.10b, you will succeded with the 6a+. The type of climbing it´s quite athletic,

Most of the lines do not exceed 10 meters in height, and the island it´s ideal for beginners in the psicoblock (climbing without a rope over the sea). You will find "everything", plate roofs, overhangs, rails, water droplets, holes, stalactites.

I hope that information will be helpful for your trip. Whatever you need ... here I am.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
