I've been searching for my next crag pack as well. I know I don't want another top-loader as you have to take everything out to get the item you need whuch always seems to be at the bottom. I've looked at panel loaders & duffle style packs, but am leaning towards the Arc'teryx Miura 50 which has a drawbrige opening system. The online reviews of it seems to be very good and I checked one out locally and liked what I saw. Now just waiting to find it on sale somewhere as it typically retails for $225. I know it's a bit pricey, but if it lasts a long time, makes things much easier and carries comfortably then I'd say it will be well worth it. |

The waist belt is inadequate (too thin); I did not enjoy carrying this for 30 minutes. |

I've had one for about a year and a half. It's adequate in terms of size for typical cragging and functions well for accessing gear etc. It's really light which is one of the reasons I got it (and also very cheap). However, that's also its downfall since the waistbelt is tiny and the fabric is not exactly bomber. I realized how uncomfortable it is on a recent trip to Red Rocks where you have to hike for an hour or more to get to many of the climbs (don't pay attention to what I said on the link below..). The fabric at the bottom and also the water bottle bags on the side are starting to wear through and show holes, and this is after relatively moderate use. I suppose it'd be OK if you don't have to hike very far, but I recently sucked it up and purchased an Arcteryx Miura 50 and am very happy with it, though it hasn't seen much use yet.
