Homemade snow pickets

Is there any reason not to use a snow picket made yourself, i.e. taking two pieces of scrap aluminum and welding them together in the T shape

You can probably even find T-shaped stock.

I think at least MRS pickets are "aircraft grade" aluminum but I don't know what kind of strength numbers they get out of them. You could probably do it with the right stuff.

Most normal people don't know how to weld aluminum either.
