Backpack suggestions

I am looking for a great backpack for school that I can carry my books in and wont leave book blisters on my hips when I run home from school. It probably needs to be slightly bigger than normal and I would like it to have compression straps so that it doesn't have to look bigger than normal when I don't need it to. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!

Mammut Nirvana might be a good one. I have an older model and I have used it for books because it has a sort of squarish shape, but I can't speak to its comfort on your hips when running; I can say that its always done well by me on some pretty decent adventures.

If you are looking for a day pack you should look into Mammut. I have the "Ice 45". I was semi-skeptical to say the least. However, it carries weight very well and is durable. I have thrown screws in it without the condoms many times and have only gotten one tear. Threw some shoe-goo over a whip-stitch... good as new.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
