I'll be at the ice fest this year, I'd be willing to make some sort of gesture while there. Am I incorrect to believe that Daryn would be more interested in some sort of panty raid on adjacent climbers in his honor?

I am reminded today that we are not guaranteed tomorrow. Take the opportunity to tell those whom you value how you feel about them. Life is beautiful and precious. Make lasting memories and hold them dear!

RIP Daryn..

I worked with Daryn at Wasatch Electric- he was always energetic and excited about anything outdoors. I heard lots of cool stories about ice climbing and his california trips. Daryn and Mike white are the main reason I decided to get into climbing. He showed me stairway to heaven for the first time, and passionately told me about the fun times he had. I was very sad to hear he past away. My condolences go out to his family. I know this happened a few years ago, but I just barely found out about it a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks Josh, I know those who read this will appreciate your thoughts. We just celebrated the second anniversary of his passing with a hike up Mt. Timpanogos, with his best friend/climbing partner Matt, and his Dad. His Dad has been quite the trooper in coming to Utah and doing some alpine hikes on Daryn's anniversary- I know he misses his son alot. The grieving process was kind of long for some of us, probably because Daryn was such a powerful life force- he left a big footprint. I'm glad to hear that you, too, were touched by this, and it does not surprise me that he shared his experiences and inspired you to climb- it was the fire in his heart. So keep climbing :)... and pass the passion to others!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
