Hi
Three of us are headed down from BC to climb Red Rock through the middle of November. Planning on camping but looking at other ideas too. Anyone know of cheap rooms (that aren't totally sleazy) near the climbing?

Last time I was down there we stayed at a friend of a friends place. Not an option this time but was good.

thanks

I was just there... if you are going midweek - it sounds as though the Texas Station is the cheapest option ($40 ish per room) .. but from what I saw - the rate increases drastically over the weekend (last weekend was 140+ on Sat night)

The best option I found was the Sienna Suites ... which is quite a ways on the map (out on the Boulder Highway and Russell - right off of I-515 ) but no traffic on the freeway - makes it only like 10 extra minutes from anything near the strip.

it's about $55 a night - and has a full kitchen and living room - would work great for 3 people. Kitchen has pots and pans - in good shape - but little else. Room was in good shape for the price, not sleazy at all.

Check I4vegas.com or similar. usually can get better deal over internet. Make sure you check the 'resort fee', you have to pay that in addition to the reservation.

try The Golden Gate down on fremont street. They have great little rooms for about 29 to 39 bucks a night. its the oldest hotel in town and its right on fremont street, thats downtown vegas. plus they have the best shrimp cocktail in town. 99 cents!

Palace Station (and all the other 'station' hotels, Texas, Boulder, etc...) are cheaper and such. But Palace Station in particular is off strip in the RIGHT direction for Red Rocks and furthermore you can access the rooms without going through the Casino.
I've also got 2BR suites at Embassy Suites hotel off of HotelCoupons.com in the past. ANd having a kitchen is worth a lot in the winter.
