John Denver

This is for all of you lucky guys that get to live near the Rocky Mountains. How many of you listen to John Denver's Rocky Mountain High and just feel like, "yes, this is truth". |
I kinda envy Capt Kirk |

" Capt. Kirk is climbing a mountain, why is he climbing the mountain?..." that's the song (and video) I think of when climbing. |
Can't help but think of this: Harry: I expected the Rocky Mountains to be a little rockier than this. Lloyd: I was thinking the same thing. That John Denver's full of shit, man. |

Has anyone else seen the park ranger in RMNP that looks just like John Denver? I saw him one day getting on the shuttle from the G.G. trail head. When I asked my friend if he thought it looked like him he said yes. The two guys behind me thought so too. |

He'll probably kill me, but this is Allen Hill during the summer of '76. I was the hiking counselor for Cheley Camps in Estes Park that year and he was one of my "kids". |
That position he's holding standing there looks like he just came from a Catholic Boys Camp....... |
Good one Mike. The Catholic camp was down the road. Camp St. Malo. We always laughed about Camp St. Bad. Dave this on Ypsilon right? I was just telling the story of our unauthorized climb of Longs that summer. |

We often hiked from my house in Morrison up to Red Rocks. We would sneak in and stealthly climb to the top of the formation known as Ship Rock. One summer evening we watched J.D. play accompanied by the Denver Symphony Orchestra. It was kinda cool, sorta. |
It's probably just me but John Denver kinda looks like a hobbit or an elf, anybody have real proof he wasn't an alien? |
This thread made me think of another CO classic hit. |
I remember being at a Dead show at Red Rocks and some guy fell off of the Ship Rock and was killed. The band just kept playing on and the audience enjoyed the red flashing lights from the police cars and ambulance. |
