Hauling - Tips, Tricks?

"What do you use for hauling when you're not using a tag line on a route that goes mostly free? After considering all the advice in here, that's the solution I've reached; to skip the tag line and to get a middle weight haul line or old lead line that will be good enough for a limited amount of hauling but not too heavy"

Pretty much. While a heavier line is nice as a back up lead line, most of the walls I did we hauled with a 9mm. Not too heavy. Thick enough to fix. Ultimately, while it's good to consider paring weight to a minimum, you're going to have to get over the whole idea of 'I don't want a bunch of weight on my as I climb.' It's a wall. A lot of those issues are going to be unavoidable and mentally you're going to have to start preparing yourself for that. It's kind of like saying I want to go to do a long alpine route but I don't want to climb with a 10-15 lb. pack. Probably not going to happen.

I was not bragging, rather shedding real experience to prove that the 8mm does not hold up for more than 2-3 walls.

Moonlight is getting "trenched" by everyone hauling it. That route should be fixed and fired. Hauling should be shunned on it IMHO.

True. It would definitely be more fun firing it in a day (and very doable). But, if you're just getting into walls/hauling/etc, it's a pretty good route to pop your cherry on.

Extra skills results in a "CF" huh? Sounds like you could use some extra skills if your 3 man system is a CF. Or maybe you prefer the "work harder not smarter" way of doing things?
