Jeremy Monahan wrote: rei.com/product/628122 Chamois butt'r is the stuff most cyclists use, I've heard good things. AKA grundle grease, taint painr, among other choice names. Talcum or baby powder works good, just don't over do it.+1 That's great stuff. I spent last summer biking the Pacific Coast from Canada to Mexico and I made sure to have that "Butt'r" with me the whole ride. A little thick but works great. |

I've used this stuff and it is awesome! |
I recently moved out east from Boulder and the humidity caused me the same issues. |

Underarmor tight fitting grundos while your hiking and etc, don't sleep in them... Just make sure to change them daily and wash up down there or they smell like death. |
On long trail runs I've had this question. Bump for more. |
another for underarmor, also, you may not want to hear it, but eating wheat (gluten) if you have any sort of intolerance to it, gives you a wicked sweaty, itchy, rash covered anus. How's that for mature? |

Monkey Butt sucks..many years of wildland fire work taught me one thing: |
+1 For the body glide, i put that stuff on before i run a marathon and it lasts through all 26.2 miles. I've actually had to wash some of it off after the race... after 4 hours of sweating |

Get some KY up in that shizz! |
Desitin (diaper cream) is the shizzz. Works like a dream. |
In my case it's 100% about the clothing. Don't wear anything that can draw an edge of fabric or elastic into an area that is sensitive. |

Vaseline is easy to find, cheap, and (for me) works like magic. Worth a try! |
chamois...I can say thru personal experience that this stuff works. I went thru a couple tubes last summer during a cross country bike tour |

Vagisil is good for itchy asshole oops I didn't wipe enough syndrome. NOT for oh shit my grundle is chafed as fuck syndrome. Goldbond is your friend. Apply multiple times a day. Keep that shit dry. NOT greasy and wet. Goldbond is for my grundle is chafed as fuck sydrome. Use Goldbond I fucking swear by that shit. Took me almost 1,000 miles to figure it out but I did. |

If you go on a day or week long hikes (not ultra running but backpacking) do you wear lycra shorts and use the lube or do you try to stay dry down there? Im not trying to witch hunt here im just legit curious! Thanks |

I'd recommend using what bikers use, or even just vaseline. I know I get wicked chafe and burn if I don't lube up. |

In triathlons, getting out of the water and starting the bike, you're wet and everything is wet. But me having thinner thighs I guess never dealt with much chaffing except when cycling 75+ miles with bad fitting shorts. Vaseline or Chamois butt'r worked for me until i got some proper fitting garments. When on long backpacking hikes, i wear underarmour tights to keep everything in place and dry-ish. |
