Alright folks,
My climbing partner and I have been scouring the wasatch for undeveloped bouldering via google earth and by putting in some hiking time. Ed found a goldmine! If you have google earth, also i hear you can use it online now the coordinates are: 40 31'26.66" N 111 41'17.28" W

check it out. The area is absolutely huge. There are two major zones, one of which we haven't even come close to exploring the whole thing and it is the much smaller of the two areas. The abbey, which is the area we've been exploring is broken down into several zones on it's own. The rock quality is very very good. The boulders contain an interesting combination of different features that are found throughout LCC. The name of the game up there so far seems to be body tension. Lots of slopey rails, crimps on the patina, chickenheads. We put up a few problems up there so far of which all are pretty classy. It's hard to not wander around and look at stuff and the hiking in itself is quite taxing, which makes for difficult quick development of the area. We want to get as many people up there as possible that are psyched on doing FA's and spending some time in this incredible alpine environment. The boulders are at around 10,000 feet... it's an ultimate summer time bouldering area. The hike to the area itself is fairly serious, it's about a 3 hour hike accessed near the top of american fork canyon and a good 2 hours of the hike are a consistant uphill. We are heading back up there the next 2 weekends and would love to have others join us, the area is just too big for 2 people to develop. If you have any questions please post up here, or email me at: seth.hamel@gmail.com

Great work fellas, it looks spectacular! What is the approach? Can you drive to Silver Lake and hike over from there?

Yeah that seems to be the best option. Just above Granite Flats, and before Silver Lake Flat, there's a trailhead for Dry Creek and that takes you to a saddle north of Box Elder. Then you walk towards the granite!

Sweet Area man. Looks Sick as shit. Reminds me of Lincoln Lake @ Mt Evans. Also Hummingbird Arete looks a lot like one of my personal fav climbs Punani. Keep up the good work. There is ton's of new undeveloped climbing out there. Just takes people with ambition, patience and dedication to find it.

This place looks awesome! Anyone know when it will be warm enough to climb there again this year? Also is there any form of guide for the area that we would be able to use and/or add to if/when we go. Thanks!
