... and your girlfriend does too, and you like to climb rocks, you don't have much money, have a place to crash in Vegas, enjoy long days of easy/moderate trad most (but will boulder and sport climb too), have a rack up to #5, you live in Denver and enjoy road trips. What would you do?

Red Rock?

Is this a quiz?

'Cause if it is, it's an easy one.

I'd split the month between red rocks, JTree, and Cochise.

My wife and I did similar trips 3 years in a row we've never regretted it.

Go where it's warm and the climbing is good...everyone already mention the best road tripping places.

But you probably already know what to do....

+1 potrero. super cheap, super comfy living and shitloads of climbing.

Depending what your into I'd say you should also hit up Sedona, AZ and do some towers. Pretty unique climbing experience.

Save your traveling money and buy ice gear. Screw the sunny places. Climb 30 days of ice (take X-mas off for recovery). Colorado, Wyoming Montana.

Everyone else failed, I passed right?
It was a trick question with that whole place in Vegas thing Huh?

I've climbed everywhere else mentioned(except cochise) in December.

For a super cheap trip, with fairly reliable weather, super good climbing, and a fun climbing scene.....I'd say go to EPC.

how safe is potrero these days? i was thinking of making a trip there and would have to come from the north through nuevo laredo and hear its pretty dangerous in those parts. sorry for the slight hijack. anyone driven that recently?

That was my thinking before I posted this -- Red Rocks, JTree, maybe Cochise. And maybe an easy tower near Moab on the way to Vegas.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
