Accident in or near Eldorado Canyon?
|
We saw multiple emergency vehicles heading towards the canyon this morning (6/17) around 10:30 am, then a flight for life helicopter. Anyone know what happened? Not sure if this was climbing related but regardless I hope everyone is okay. |

The accident happened at the base of the Bomb. A climber starting up the West Overhang pulled off between 500 and 1000 lbs of rock that took a women that was getting ready to tie into a rope on the Bomb. She was swept down about 75 feet near the creek trail. I was climbing on Rain on the Bastille and was second or third to be at the scene. Myself, a park service employ and another climber from the Bastille area tried to keep her spine stable until rescuers arrived on scene. She was in the helicopter within 1 hour of the accident and probably sent to St Anthonys in Denver as it is a level 1 trauma center. |

Just wanted to know if anyone from Boulder was planning on visiting the injured lady in the hospital. I know she probably has some relatives and loved ones doing that, but it would be a very nice gesture. It need not be a group. |
