| Last Friday, we did quite a bit of exploring around the crux of Chicken Heads - had a very patient belayer: Howard Snell. I looked a bit at leading it the way the rope shows in this photo. However, I eventually opted for something I think was easier, better protected, and much closer to the line of the main right-angling crack. What I mean by the "main right-angling crack" is the one that is big just below the right foot of the leader and gets thin just left of center at the bottom of this photo. If it feels decidedly harder than 5.7, there's a better way. :-) |
