Just wondering if it possible to sort your personal tick list...maybe by area...or even make that list downloadable? I like being able to keep up with routes that I have climbed in an area to see what I haven't climbed yet and what I want to do. Or maybe even sorting an area by ticks and to-do's? Hmmmmm....curious...

I'd like to be able to export the ticklist in a .csv or other database/spreadsheet file format too. I experimented with copy/pasting the text, and saving the html file and applying a few filters to manipulate the data, and I think I could have made it work; however the cost of the time required to do this was greater than my benefit, so I aborted that idea.

I third the idea that this would be a useful feature. Seems like a variation of the tool is already in existence, since we can sort the 'todo list' by area..... why not build it into the tick list too? Of course you can go to the map display of ticks, and hover over a pushpin to see ticks in that area, but the Google map bubble that pops up only shows the past 12 routes or so.

Another roundabout way to get at this info involves using star ratings. If you have consistently given stars to everything that you've ticked, then you can do an advanced search for an area, and scan down the table of search results (sorted however you choose), noting that the gold-starred routes are also your past ticks, and the blue stars are your unclimbed routes. (This won't help for anything you've given a 'bomb' rating, though, because the bomb icon doesn't change color.)

I also support the suggest for a feature to allow downloads of the personal tick list. I've been doing it with a cut and paste function into a Word table, but cleaning up the formatting is a lot of work.

Ticklist geeks - I love it. I added an "export" feature to your Ticklist page. Easy to add fields if you have any requests. It should be easy for you to import into excel or write your own parser.

To import into Excel: - Go to your tick export page, select all, and copy
- Open a new worksheet in excel, and paste all that text
- Go to the Data menu, click "Text to Columns..."
- Choose Delimited, click Next
- Click "Other" and enter '|' (the pipe character), click Finish
It should have worked.

I have a very extensive tick list and I update it almost daily. I just keep a pencil in a notebook and write down climbs that seem interesting. Once I successfully complete a climb, I put the name of that climb into another notebook and describe everything about the climb so that I can tell people beta about it. I get a ticklist by searching online data and by looking at guidebooks and magazines. Also I get items for my ticklist by talking to people at every climbing area I go to and I write down the best climbs. I am very strict with myself though. If it is a freeclimb, I must free climb it to put it into my 'completed' book. If it is a clean aid climb, then I must do it that way. Some climbs are in between and in that case I note the manner in which I completed the climb in order to avoid any ambiguity in the future.

Nick, would it be possible to also add into your "Export" code the area that the climb is located? That would be very helpful. Thanks

As a continuation to the "tick list" suggestions and ideas thread, I'll post mine here. If it needs to be on a new thread, just let me know. Could there be a way to edit existing ticks? I think it would be nice to add or take away detail once you have it already loaded. Thanks!

Agree about editing previous ticks. Half the time I can't remember what day it is and put in the wrong date.

Not to make it sound like 8a.nu, but can we also get ability to assemble route pyramids, especially by type (trad, boulder, sport)?

Is there a way to import a tick list? I have a lengthy list of routes I've climbed, kept outside of Mtn. Project. It would be nice to do an import of a .csv or whatever set format, instead of adding one at a time to get me up to date.
