Climbing partner for southern NM

Hi all

My name is Manuel and I'm from Switzerland. In March I will spend some time in Carlsbad for research purposes. Since I'm a regular and enthusiastic rock climber I don't want to stop climbing during this period. So I was looking for crags near the town and found 'the sitting bull falls' and 'last chance canyon' which both look quite interesting. Now I just need a partner or a group I could join and go climbing with. Please let me know if your interested. Also any other recommendation of sport crags and climbing gyms near Carlsbad would be very appreciated.

I've been to both those areas and yeah they are pretty good, but it seemed pretty hit or miss if someone else is going to be there. My wife and I saw nobody else in 3 days of climbing.

I do however know that there should be a group headed down to Last Chance from ABQ this weekend.

I think there are a bunch of folks from Lubbock, TX that climb at Last Chance more regularly.

Hueco Tanks should not be all that far, though it is still pretty far, couple of hours or more, and it is mostly bouldering but there are a fair number of routes and there are going to be tons of people there but you might have trouble getting in with out reservations.

I ran into a large fun group that worked at at Texas Tech in Lubbock at the Enchanted Tower once. They go down somewhere near Carlsbad a lot. You might be able to get in contact with them though the climbing center on campus:
