what to do with my wedding band while i climb?
yo all, |
I used to put mine on the mini biner that held my chalk bag. Getting divorced increased my climbing by 3 number grades, and pawning my ring got me enough to fill up the tank. Good luck to you either way! |
I use 3mm nylon cord around my neck and just girth hitch the ring on. I went with the titanium ring so I dont even notice it when its on my finger (not that a gold ring weighs all that much) so I have to remember to take it off before I start climbing. |

Good luck to you either way!HA! Divorce does improve climbing and by the way I got both hers and mine. That = 3 tanks of gas. That said just take the thing off and leave it in the car. If your attached to it throw it around your neck. Edit: It seems the divorced guys are chiming in. Don't take it as negative. Marriage is good and a lot of fun. Be sure to practice lots of baby making. Congrats! |

I used to just leave it home...........until the divorce |
I usually leave mine in the car or in a small zippered pocket in my pack. And by the way, getting re-married after the divorce added 15 lbs and dropped my climbing by a grade! |
I used to clip my wedding band into a hematite necklace I got for my 10 year anniversary. While moving through a crux sequence on Angell Falls the necklace snagged and the catch popped. Ring and necklace tumbled 200 feet to the leaf littered base. My buddies came back the next week with a metal detector and found it for me. Now I just leave it in the car when I go climbing. |
I say just bring the band along, and let them play some rock'n tunes from the base of the routes for all to enjoy. Will you be climbing in your tuxedo? Bride coming along too? |
+1 for clipping it to the 'biner holding my chalk bag to my harness -- nice, secure and out of harm's way. Sometimes it stays there for weeks! |
I clip mine to the mini biner on my keyring, and it has worked for me so far. |
My wife and I leave ours at home when we go climbing, even if its for a long vacation. I have misplaced it before outside taking it off while I was there, but luckily found it hiding. Don't run the risk of losing it out there, it can be devastating. |
I leave mine at home or put it on my key ring. |
When I remember I leave it in the change cubby in the center console of my vehicle, when I forget I clip it to the key clip on the top of my pack. |
My wife and I put our rings in our ash tray of our vehicle or we put them on a spare biner if we forget to take them off. |
let your girlfriend hold it. |
My wedding ring was molded from a piece of 6mm perlon; just had our 21st anniversary. Don't pay any attention to all this bragging about how good divorce is...a good marriage is way better. If you have a secure way to carry a chalkbag, get one with a zipper pocket, or leave the ring at home; the missus will understand that you don't want to damage or lose it. Hanging it around the neck is good too. |
Ditch the ring and get a tattoo. |

This has got to be a troll! |

Take it off. Leave it off. Put it somewhere where your wife knows it is and forget about it. |
Girth hitch it and use it as pro. With a good placement it should hold. |
