I was wondering if anyone had info on limestone sport climbing in irish canyon. I found a half dozen sport routes (seemingly) in the middle of no where. and thank you for cleaning and bolting the routes.

No info here, and I grew up in the area and still explore and establish pitches and boulder in that corner of the state (not in irish canyon itself yet though). Wonder who could be doing that developing. Where in particular are these sport climbs? are they good? I'm very curious and a bit excited that some other freak would be into establishing routes there. There certianly is some limestone, just didn't think it was all that great and I usually climb on the shit sandstone and quartzite blocks that litter that corner of the state.

Oh and airbiscuit, are you by chance J Stover from junction?

Myself and my buddy Doug met you walking with your wife about three weeks ago in CO monument on our way to the slabs. You gave us tons of great beta and raved about lizards and scorpions. When I got on mp to check out that route, the description looked as if it had been written by someone very stoked on that climb and I kinda put 2 and 2 together. Doug mentioned that you now have a healthy child, congratulations man! Maybe get together for some climbing someday eh?

Its for real. We went out there this weekend and found some bolts. I figured I was the victim of an april fools joke while I was driving out there. Didn't get to climb cause the gf didn't want to climb in the rain but there were 5 routes with bolts that I found. The rock quality is horrible, but with enough cleaning there is miles of potential rock along that band, with some real steep lines across the road from what we found. Easy access. The hardware is good too 12mm or 1/2" (a rarity in NW colorado.) Watch that loose rock.
