Okay I know Virgin Gorda boasts some sick bouldering, but I have to keep my girlfriend content at the same time. Anywhere wlse in the Caribbean that has possible inclusive vacation package deals near some local rocks? Boulders/Cliffs/Walls...doesn't matter I JUST HAVE TO CLIMB on any vacation....

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Punta Canta looks nice but I havent heard of any climbing in the area

Hawaii came up in discussion, whats the climbing scene like?

Cayman Brac has good sport climbing and phenomenal snorkeling and scuba. John Byrnes (aka lord slime on mp.com) owns a house their that he rents for a reasonable price. Not a ton of beaches though as the shore is mostly limestone. But seriously, unbelievable snorkeling.
Virgin Gorda is probably a more non-climber friendly location though. The snorkeling is ok, the beaches are sick and you can boulder right next to your girl as she swims or sun-bathes. Let me know if you want more detailed beta on either location.
All in all, I would say VG is more of the Caribbean tourist vacation spot with bars and restaurants and beaches....thus a bit more expensive. The Brac is more of your "backwoods" Caribbean experience with a more blue-collar feel.

There are a couple developed sport crags on Oahu.

Puerto Rico is another option with several limestone crags.

This is on the cliffs of Negril, Jamaica. I wouldn't recommend going there as a destination. The rock is very, very sharp for the most part, but it was fun if you were careful. Landings are great, though.

I don't see why Virgin Gorda wouldn't keep your girlfriend content. The beaches the boulders are on are near perfect, the snorkeling is outstanding, the local food is amazing, etc etc. It is a killer vacation spot, and just happens to be littered with hundreds on granite boulders...

Coral like rock in the caribean is not fun to climb on its like climbing on razor blades in certain areas.

The climbing here's actually pretty good. The place to go is Mokuleia wall, up on the north shore. It's a little hike up to the wall, nothing like suicide or taquitz, real, real easy compared to that. I've gotten on routes and felt like they were soft graded, but then I got on others and felt that they were sandbagged... so I just stopped trying to figure that out and started just trying to climb routes. The climbing here is very three dimensional. Stemming all over the place. Well protected, quality sport stuff. I must say though. I usually just surf.

I know she would be happy with the scenery but I am trying to get more info on the logistics/demographics of the Caribbean islands. It seems that Virgin Gorda doesnt have the inclusive resorts that other islands have. All said and done, just looking for the best overall package...I mean we'll be in the Caribbean which is sick and I would love to climb, but some of these islands offer inclusive packages where flight, food, drink, and transport to and from airport are included (BUT is there climbing on these islands?). This might be much cheaper than flying into St Thomas, taking a ferry over to virgin gorda, renting a cottage on the beach, going out to eat at restaurants/preparing our own meals every time we want to eat, buying booze...

Just getting all the details before I book the vacation...

Thanks for all the responses thus far everyone!

Ah, good point. VG only has a couple big resort type places, and I am pretty sure they are all high end, and on the wrong side of the island from the bouldering. Someone needs to open a climbers hostel/campground on VG!

I lived at the camp under the cliffs in Mokuleia Hawaii for 2 months. The climbing is awesome basalt sport climbing, with amazing views. That being said I found it hard to even hike up the hill behind my cabin with surf out the front door. It is fun stuff but the surf is so much better!

I climbed at Grapefield in Aruba last year. Steep, pumpy and sharp. I also deep water bouldered near the Rockhouse Hotel in Negril, Jamaica about 4 years ago. Super fun, 40 feet or so tall and crystal clear, fish filled water to fall in.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
