Anyone ever climbed at Graveyard Fields outside of Asheville?

A friend of mine said he climbed at Graveyard Fields long ago as part of a university class. Has anyone else climbed there and know anything about the grades or routes? I'd like a bit more info before I head out there with my young climbers.

There is a good bit of ice climbing at Graveyard Fields but no rock climbing that I know of. Could your friend be referencing Snakes Den? Devils Courthouse is right down the parkway from GF but is CLOSED to climbing. Ice climbing on the parkway is only allowed when the parkway is closed. Good luck.

i would be suprised at a group climbing at snake's den or graveyard fields. i suppose there could be top anchors at gf but i've never heard of them and i know most of the top rope group sites in the area.

a nice beginner spot with top access and bolts is the cove creek group campground near the fish hatchery off 276. it's a little hard to find the first time but walk into the group campground and look across the stream for the obvious cliff. the lines are super easy, maybe .2- .3 but still fun. a great place to practice rapelling too.
