Anyone know any good locations for a small climber wedding. Dont want a ceremony on the rocks. Just a great spot with appropriate vacation rentals for the occasion.

Thanks.

Gunks, anywhere along the Ubrfall road or up on the cliffs like Lynn did it years ago. Very 70's..

Are you looking for something outside your local area? I was thinking Black Canyon, Ouray, Escalante Canyon, lots of climbing along the Arkansas.

Look into Dunton Hot Springs, its in your neck of the woods.

Spearfish Canyon, SD. Spearfish Canyon Lodge took care of us big time.

Excellent sport, trad and bouldering in the area and a lot of non-climber stuff to do in the Black Hills.

The GT ledge! You could string up a bunch of old climbing ropes as tethers. You could fit dozens (if not hundreds) of people up there! Everyone just needs to bring their own harness and jugs!

It'll only be $15 X (number of people in your party) on top of everything else. :)

If that doesn't work, then maybe on top of Devil's Tower?

Edit: I guess I should give you a real option. Some friends of mine got married at Tenaya Lake in Tuolumne Meadows a few years ago. Then they had the reception in Foresta. They were pretty limited to the number of people they were allowed to have at Tenaya (like 25 or something) but it was only limited to like 150 or 200 at Foresta. Both are beautiful locations if you can pull it off.

I have a friend who's getting married on top Glacier Point this summer. Pretty epic.

This is awesome and very much what we want. The only problem is the High Price. Does anyone know any other places like this?

check out redstone. among the most beautiful places in CO (imo), o.k. climbing (but close enough to the pass!), good bouldering, plus great 'other' activities for any non climbing guests. good mountain biking, fly fishing, necky kayaking, horseback riding...

congrats!

We got married at the Crags Lodge in Estes Park. We did our ceremony outside, then headed in for the reception. Guests stayed at lodges and hotels all around town. Crags Lodge

I am sure he can work it out to fit your pocket book with lots of room for camping as well as in the lodge. With the tower in you back yard what more could ask for.

truthfully I once thought I found the most perfect place to get married. In Vegas, at Red Rocks, park at the sandstone area and hike 4 minutes from your cars, 500 ft up the first corridor. Nice 5.13's there too. It's a narrow slot, very private for small group. Corridor is a dead end with colorful walls 60 ft. over your head, and catches the morning sun in a wonderful way. Just pay per vehicle and be sure to leave before sunset.

Try the Black Forest Lodge or some such name in Estes Park. Worked for us a few years ago.

It is on the right side of the approach road to Lumpy just N of town near the church. A rustic type of place with a nice yard ringed by trees and some boulders. They have cabins for rent too.

A ski resort in the off season (especially fall) can be pretty cheap.

How about just go totally off the wall....... maybe a church or something like that.

I think you're approaching this the wrong way. Ask yourself where you want to go and get married there.

Personally, if money and reservations aren't an issue, I can't think of a nicer place than Yosemite Valley. Lots of cabins to rent. Cool chapel for the ceremony or have it in a meadow outside. Lots of bouldering or roped climbing. Stay overnight in the Ahwahnee for the honeymoon. Classic.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
